Secretive, the Venezuelan capital of Caracas reveals its treasures only to those who come looking for them. This modern city, which developped in tune with the dreams and idealisms of the post-war period, hosts some of the finest architectural successes of the Modernist movement. In the 1960’s, some of the greatest artists and architects such as Gio Ponti, Carlos Raul Villanueva, Alexander Calder, Fernand Léger and Jean Arp (to name just a few) conceived a joyful and uplifting version of Modernism.
